Dr. Mohamed Hussein Aden, MD

Dr. Mohamed Hussein Aden, M.D., is a renowned medical professional and academic leader in the Federal Republic of Somalia. Currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Research & Development (R&D) at Puntland University of Science & Technology (PUST) in Galkacyo, he also holds the prestigious position of Professor of Nephrology, Medicine & Clinical Pharmacology in the College of Medicine & Health Sciences at PUST University. In addition, Dr. Aden is a Senior Executive Member representing PUST University in the collaborative initiative between Somali and Swedish universities, fostering capacity building in Research & Development (R&D) and the promotion of the Somali Health Action Journal (SHAJ).

With a specialization in Internal Medicine and expertise in Nephrology (Renal Medicine), Dr. Aden serves as a dedicated Consultant Nephrologist at Galkacyo Public Hospital. His passion for medical education and research is evident through his role as a Visiting Professor and Independent External Examiner in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, East Africa University (EAU) in Bosaaso, Puntland State.

Dr. Mohamed Hussein Aden is an esteemed Puntland Medical Association (PMA) and Puntland Health Professionals Council (PHPC)/Medical Council member, actively contributing to healthcare policy and professional development. His notable achievements and influential contributions have established him as a prominent medical community figure dedicated to advancing healthcare and research in Somalia.
