Aisha Ahmed Hussein
Aisha Ahmed Hussein is a PUST counsellor and an academic lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Puntland University of Science and Technology (PUST), where she has been a faculty member since 2019. Aisha currently serves as one of the University’s board members. Aisha has many counselling activities both for university students and Galkayo city secondary schools students.
Aisha completed her primary degree and second degree studies both in Somalia and in Uganda. She is the recipient of a Master’s Degree in Early Learning and Human Development.
Aisha gives occasional lectures in Puntland University of Science and Technology (PUST), trains students and youth workers in Somalia in the context of career development, counselling and guidelines, intercultural dialogue, personal development, and community sustainable development.
Aisha has a proven track record of disseminating her academic and social development skills, having initiated human development trainings and founded an Early Childhood Education Centre - one of first of its kind in Puntland. Aisha has dedicated years of her life to developing and supporting Somali communities, especially those with limited opportunities.
Aisha is an outspoken human rights activist, motivational speaker, youth trainer, and advocate for women’s political participation in Somalia. Thus, she would like to advance in advocating the realization of democratic process in Puntland state of Somalia. She is also a chairperson within the Mudug regional office in Puntland Transitional Electoral Commission (TPEC).
Aisha is an astute professional with more than 8 years in the field of human training and development, education, and humanitarian programmes.
Aisha is founder and the manager of Ayatin Kinder Garden and Primary School.
